Description
The tour begins in the heart of Rio de Janeiro's historic center, where you board the famous Bondinho de Santa Teresa, the iconic little yellow tram that slowly climbs up to the heights of the city.
Very soon, the bondinho passes over the impressive Arcos da Lapa, a former aqueduct that has become a viaduct and is one of the city's most recognizable architectural symbols.
Upon arriving in the Santa Teresa neighborhood, you will find yourself immersed in an authentic hilltop village, known for its cobbled streets, colorful houses and artistic atmosphere. Take advantage of the street art to snap some great souvenir photos.
You will then continue to Parque das Ruínas, a former mansion converted into a cultural center, which offers an exceptional panoramic view of the city.
The descent then takes you to one of Rio's most iconic landmarks: the Selarón Steps. These colorful steps are decorated with thousands of tiles from around the world by the artist Jorge Selarón.
Finally, you'll come to the Arcos da Lapa, where history, culture and local life come together.
To round off the experience, be impressed by the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio.
