Description
See the best tourist spots in Rio de Janeiro on a complete 8-hour tour with a top-tier multilingual guide. Visit the Christ the Redeemer statue, the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian, and the Museum of Tomorrow. Enjoy a buffet lunch and see the Selarón Staircase and Sugarloaf Mountain.
Start your day with a pick-up at your hotel between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, followed by a visit to Tijuca Forest, heading up to Christ the Redeemer: one of Rio's most famous symbols, voted one of the seven wonders of the world. After taking in the breathtaking view from the mountain, head to Dona Marta’s viewpoint, located 360 meters above sea level.
From here, see Maracanã Stadium, the entire Guanabara Bay, Flamengo Park, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, and Christ the Redeemer. Next, visit the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian, inaugurated in 1979. With its bold modern design, it stands 75 meters high and can accommodate up to 20,000 people.
The cathedral is an architectural marvel and offers a unique experience. Then, head to Mauá Square for an external visit to the Museum of Tomorrow, a stunning science and technology center in Rio that explores sustainability, the future, and our role in shaping the planet.
Afterward, visit Cinelândia for an external visit to the Municipal Theater of Rio, an architectural and cultural masterpiece inspired by European opera houses. It hosts world-class performances and is a key cultural landmark in the city.
Enjoy a 1-hour stop for lunch at an all-inclusive buffet where you can taste some of Brazil’s best recipes. After lunch, take a short sightseeing visit to Lapa’s Arches, built in the 18th century as an aqueduct. Now a cultural icon, it is made of stone and illuminated at night, popular for photos.
Next, visit the Selarón Staircase, connecting the bohemian Lapa district to the artistic Santa Teresa neighborhood. Decorated by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón with mosaics in green, yellow, and blue, this vibrant tribute to Brazil’s people has been featured in music videos, including by U2 and Michael Jackson.
Finally, conclude the tour at the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain. From the top, enjoy a stunning sunset over the city, as the sky turns shades of orange and pink, and the city lights begin to shine. After the guide introduces the location, you’ll have 1 hour to enjoy the view. There are bars where you can relax and take in the scenery. The tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.
