Description

We will meet at the Barra da Tijuca´s subway station and drive for 50 minutes to the Guaratiba neighborhood, where our walk begins. Arriving in Guaratiba, we will hike to the famous Telegrafo Rock for 45 minutes, one of the most impressive views of Rio. Along the trail, you will discover islands, long coastal views with mountains, the channels and mangroves around Restinga da Marambaia and the richness of our green forest. After the hike we´ll stop by a famous restaurant that makes their own cachaça. There you can have lunch, try some caipirinhas and buy cachaça/licor. After that we are visiting some of the greatest beaches in rio such as Barra, Reserva, Recreio, Macumba, Prainha and Grumari. We can stop to take pictures and enjoy the beach, also have lunch. The trail requires a little effort if you are not used to walking, some parts are a little steep, but there are no major difficulties. Once we arrive at this breathtaking viewpoint, we will stay for up to one hour, allowing time to take in the spectacular peak, relax, take pictures and just enjoy the views. Ps: Due to overcrowding at Pedra do Telegrafo, it is important to start early to avoid huge crowds to make the 'famous' image.
