Natural Aquariums

Lagoa Azul Natural Aquarium: the natural aquarium was named in reference to the film of the same name starring actress Brooke Shields, an 80's movie classic. Its turquoise water, with multicolored fish and cinematic beauty, make the place one of the most visited and admired in the Ilha Grande Bay. The immense pool is a sanctuary of marine life with incredible biodiversity.

Araçá Beach: Simply charming, this small and quiet strip of sand is surrounded by large rocks and preserved Atlantic rainforest. With access by sea or, for those coming from Freguesia de Santana, by a trail – a path of approximately 10 minutes, passing by a famous church from the late 19th century – nature lovers who prefer a place to relax will find it perfect.

Ilhas Botinas Natural Aquarium: They are to Angra what Christ the Redeemer is to Rio de Janeiro! Our best-known postcard image. Their formation resembles two boots when viewed from above, which is why they were named that way.

Praia das Flechas: its generous surrounding vegetation makes the emerald green of the Mata Atlântica reflect in the sea that laps this beach. With a long stretch of sand, Praia das Flechas is perfect for both those who enjoy peace and quiet and those who enjoy a lively atmosphere, especially on sunny weekends, when the place gets busy.

Tour Details

At Santa Luzia Station (town center), the meeting time is 11:15 AM, and boarding is at 11:30 AM.

The tour is conducted on a schooner-type vessel with capacity for up to 140 to 180 people and is shared with other passengers. The vessel is piloted by a duly qualified sailor.

At each stop, it is possible to disembark from the schooner for a swim in the sea. The total duration of the tour is 6 hours, including stops and travel time. Each stop is approximately 40 minutes, and the lunch stop is 1 hour.

The tourist spots Botinas Islands and the Blue Lagoon are natural aquariums, without the support of a pier or a strip of sand for disembarking. Therefore, it is important to know how to swim if you want to get off the boat. There will be restrooms available at the start of the tour: at the boarding point (Cais Santa Luzia), on board (male and female), and at the last stop: Praia das Flechas, in the restaurant. The meal is not included in the tour and must be paid directly to the food provider by the customer.
